Rolland Walt posted his recollection of the existence of this photo on our web site's "Help Wanted" section. Roland wrote: " When he (Shopse) died, someone in the family remembered that there was no photo ever taken of him. They called in a photographer before the funeral, laid our grandfather on the floor and took his picture. Someone in the family has that photo..."
Karen Gutman found the photograph in a box of old pictures she had. Shopse is her great great grandfather.
